Maya Jama Gives a New Spin on the Floating Eyeliner Trend

Never one to shy from a glamorous red-carpet moment, Maya Jama attended the 2022 BRIT Awards sporting one of the hottest makeup trends of the year – the floating eyeliner.

Jama’s glam team pulled out all the stops for the night, creating a sharp cat-eye doubled with a feline floating flick in the crease and paired her eye makeup with a middle part straight style cascading down her back.Letitia Sophia was behind Jama’s chic makeup moment with Brady Lea on her super long, sleek hair. As for the outfit, Jama wore a standout black zig-zag set dress by Mônot, which was styled by Kyle De’Volle.

Now, we don’t want to make assumptions but we can only guess that Jama’s floating liner was somewhat inspired by the viral makeup trend from the hit show “Euphoria”. During the show, we’ve been treated to playful and eye-catching beauty trends, including dashes of fluorescent colour, vivid reds and purples, lids covered in gems, and intricate gold-foiled details. A clear inspiration, Jama’s eyelids are washed with a golden shimmer and completed with the abstract floating eyeliner. This is a trend we have seen adored by celebrities alike, from Simone Biles and Zendaya to Addison Rae. Jama’s take on the trend is completed with a smokey baby wing.

For the rest of the look, Sophia adds a natural flush to the cheeks using Iconic London’s Duo Blush in ‘Coral Glow’, adding Original Liquid Illuminator for a seamless finish. The whole look is finished with a neutral, glossy lip. There is no denying that Jama looks magnificent and we have no doubt part of that is down to skin-care prep using her brand MIJ Masks.
